My Father's Son is the story of Jacob Ryan, a 27 year old writer afflicted with the disease Cystic Fibrosis. The story centers on Jacob's struggle to come to terms with the disease that will eventually claim his life.
As he is faced with his own mortality, Jacob must also deal with the return of his estranged father and his feelings toward him. Unable to outwardly represent his feelings, Jacob turns to his writing to express that emotion, giving the audience unique access into his thought process.
My Father's Son was shot in Rochester, NY during the summer of 2003 and it is the first full length feature film produced by Independent Horizon Films.
Note: The Project has been "temporarily" shelved and a release date is still pending. We have had a series of misfortunes and "accidents" throughout the post-production process, but rest assured, we are working on getting the film finished so please bare with us.
